Thanks for the wishes. Trying to keep a positive light on things. Especially in this fast crypto scene, need to learn as fast as possible and what better way to learn than to make the mistakes. Glad that the amount scammed wasn't too meaningful, and hoping I don't make the same mistakes again.
Here is something that could be fun to try for a modest amount. Often the price of steem on the internal market, here on steemit
is different from the price externally on bittrex. Internally you can trade steem directly against SBD, but on bittrex you have to pass via Bitcoin to get from one to the other. Even after the frictional costs and bid-ask spreads the round trip can sometimes make 1% to 2%.
The result of my test is below.
This seems like a very interesting arbitrage opportunity. I guess I need to try it out sometime!
