Introducing VertVPS, the first VPS Host to accept Steem.

in #introduceyourself8 years ago (edited)

Hi!

I'm Coolty, Founder and Owner of VertVPS, which started as an OpenVZ host in december of 2011. (Verification here: http://vertvps.com/steem.html)

We started accepting bitcoins in around 2012, and have added many altcoins to our list since then.

Today, I am pleased to announce that I will (manually) accept Steem as payment for any VPS package!

VertVPS Currently has servers in the USA, with OpenVZ based technology.

Check out http://vertvps.com to see what packages we currently offer.

Here's what you need to do to get started:

  1. Place a new order for the VPS that you want. Be sure to use your REAL info! This is not an anonymous service.
  2. Select Paypal or Bitcoin as your payment method. When the invoice generates, just close the page.
  3. Submit a support ticket saying you wish to pay for your order with Steem, include your steemit username in the ticket.
  4. Wait for me to respond and approve your order, and then I will ask for payment.
  5. Enjoy your new VPS!

That's it! Let me know if you have any questions or comments about the service.

Thanks, and I am excited to see the future of Steem!

good luck

Thank you !

4GB RAM is not ideal for running Steem nodes. More options please?

We can do custom orders as well. Depending on your needs, the prices will vary. If you want to order a custom VPS, send us a ticket with your requirements and we will get back to you with a price quote. Thanks!

Using the ticket system to pay is not bad. Best if Steem Dollars can be used to pay directly.

Yeah accepting manual payments is definitely not ideal. I hopefully have something coming soon(tm) to accept automatic payments!

Welcome to the site coolty, and smart to go to the chat. :)

Nice good info!

Thank you :)

The site's certificate chain contains a certificate signed using SHA-1, which is unsafe. Please check.

Will check, thanks.

OpenVZ is not good. And price is high

OpenVZ is fine. Everything you hear about it is BS. The only problem with OpenVZ for most use-cases, is when it's oversold. But I can tell you from previous experience with VertVPS, they don't oversell. Their servers are reliable as any OpenVZ provider, if not better.

Generally OpenVZ performs just as good, if not BETTER than KVM because there's no virtualisation overhead.

If you think the price is high on @coolty's service, you don't want to see other providers...
