Life in a PhD #1 - Introduction

Greetings Steemit community.

I am from Mexico and right now I am in my second year of my PhD in The Netherlands, I am married and have a beautiful daughter. This is my first post and I wanted to make an introduction about myself and how I got here.

I really enjoy the walk paths in Netherlands

I got into currency a couple of months ago. I had heard of Bitcoin but only as an afterthought, now that I have gone more in depth into blockchain technology and the possibilities it has, I fell in love with it!

I have tried to do some trading (badly). But the more and more I got into the decentralized technology the more I started to learn of new ways currency, economics, ways to solve problems and social media (Here!).

That is how I ended up here in Steemit.

I want to start a Blog called "Life in a PhD" there are three objectives for this blog.

First, to help myself into writing more, as is a big requirement in my PhD and something I struggle with.

Second, to express and share the feelings of doing a PhD abroad. During my first year I had problems of adapting to the new environment and culture and was affecting my work and well-being, after several sessions with a university counselor I realized I have a deep fear of failure and have problems of communication with my advisers. I want to share in this blog what has helped me and the struggles I still face.

Finally, to know more people that share similar ideas, and new people with fresh new ways of thinking.

My PhD is related to water-soil models to create irrigation strategies
