Technology: Preparing for the digital age.

I love the opportunities that the internet presents and most of all, the greater possibilities that cryptocurrencies such as Steem, Bitcoin, Dogecoin and others offer. Two years ago when I was introduced to the area of investment, the internet was the first thing I tried with an attempt to earn the required amount since I was not working.

Unfortunately I came across some holes, but it is good to see that something really works. The crypto community is highly recommended for me. It does work. The faucets might not pay much, but the little that they pay out does grows!

Now, looking at the matter closely, I can see how much more will come forth out of this invention. But how much are we really prepare for these changes? And do we act with fear and run back or do we really plan and prepare for them? It cannot be avoided because we can’t turn back the hands of time to undo it. I remember back in the year of 1999 when people from all over the world were worried that planes might fall out of the sky because of some technological change at that time. And so they waited till it was 12 midnight in Switzerland to find out if any difficulties had occurred there. Surprisingly though, on the other side of the world people actually chance it and took flights! I even had a friend who travelled the long distance back to Germany a day before this event. He knew about it but I guess it just did not register. Sometimes we might know about things but still do not take the time to do something about it. It happens to even the best of us!

And so that is what I am about, preparing others for the further, especially in the area of the Arts. So, how do we prepare ourselves? We can start by education and retraining. And this is where the internet and cryptocurrency comes in.

I am from the Caribbean, and just the other day I noticed that the library in my area began to give out advertisements in courses on how to use the computer. You might say that the internet has been around for a while now, but still we cannot take it for granted that everyone know how to use a computer. And yes, many might know how to send and receive emails or do researches on Google, or even to Twitter and Facebook but to actually use it in a working environment or see it as a way to earn, it is not there. And so I was glad when the library started offering these things. Simple things such as how to work in Word, Excel and Powerpoint to introduction on how to use the Internet was offered. When I did this course years ago, the business sector was throwing out typewriters to replace them with computers. Another thing I noticed that they were offering was how to use Blogger to Blog and how to make use of the Social Media. They even offered a course in Robotics and make provision for persons who want to create their own apps.

Not only is the library in my area doing great things but also on the internet. There are sites that make courses available for studies. Some are free while others charge a price. But they are affordable and you can study at your own pace and time. Studies in areas of technology can range from as little as $25 to $200 and whereas in a regular college it would take you 4 to 5 years to accomplish it, a course on the internet can take up to just a few hours. You might not get a physical certification upon completion but you are armed with the knowledge and understanding to do the same work even as someone coming from a regular institution.

Along with this discipline are also other field areas that must be addressed. Some of these areas are marketing, communication, business and investment. When we look on the news surrounding cryptocurrency and the blockchain technology we can hear the cries of the business sector. These are well-trained CEO’s and Investors. Not that they should know these things, but that this is something outside of their field and it calls for retraining for changing times.

Unless we learn to patiently approach the situation, things will look stressful and the task burdensome. Yes we need to pay our bills and eat some foods but taking the time to address these things will later pay off handsomely! Guys, thank you for reading my post. Next time!
