I feel cheated in this working world :'(
It is very hard for me to find a job. It's crazy how you have to have all these qualifications just to work at places like McDonalds and Burger King and so on and so forth, I put in applications (online of coarse cause no one does paper apps anymore....sigh) and no one calls me back. I would call the places that I have applied to and they all tell me the samething that I have to wait for the application process (however long that takes) to be over. To be honest with you guys It has been a very long time since I have worked, my dad fell ill and he became my main priority so I took care of him for 7 years until his death last year. I am at a lost in this working world because it seems like nobody wants to hire me because of my lack of work history and it saddens me, it makes me feel like I am not worthy of the job. I just don't know what to do.
Steemit was referred to me by a friend who said it could help me with my financial woes so I am posting this and praying for the best.
Hi brittnipg, I'm in a very similar position, up until recently i was caring for my sister who has mental health issues. you can make good money here but it isn't easy money by a long shot .
popping a post up about what you had for tea will get you nowhere, but if you can take a great photograph of it, add a recipe it could make you a few bucks.
but the first thing you want to do is write an introduce yourself post and verify yourself with a photo of you holding a piece of paper with the date and back it up with a link to your twitter or facebook with a comment saying your on steemit..this helps distinguish you from the fakers (we don't like them).
go have a look at the posts under the introduce yourself tags to get a better idea of what good posts are laid out like. if you need any help with formatting your posts adding pics check out @merej99's blog she has a pretty good post that explains it.
welcome to steemit and good luck
I'm trying the same thing. I've been taking care of my parents for the past two years and haven't worked but am applying places and getting nowhere. It doesn't help that where they live the opportunities are extremely limited and it hasn't progressed much at all in the 20 years I was gone.
It's just sad.....It's like they're telling you that you already have to have the work experience to gain work experience, and all we are trying to do is get back on our feet.
