Hello Steemians

I guess the polite thing to do when joining Steem is to post a nice introduction post. So here it is...

There are several defining aspects of myself, so I guess I will try to describe them as best as I can in each paragraph.

I am a Classical musician (playing violin, viola and viola d'amore) that specialises in Early Music. This is my work, but it is quite enjoyable. Early Music is the specialisation of Classical music that focuses upon the recreation of the original intent of works of music from before 1850. It is perhaps best explained via the other fields of art and culture. If we think backwards over 150 years, many things were different. Words had different and sometimes completely opposite meanings (think Shakespeare), visual art considered different things aesthetically pleasing (generally not shying away from things that are now considered shocking in a modern taste), architecture was quite a different beast. And, so it was with music; tastes, hardware and musical language have all evolved over the past 150-300 years. Thus, my field of specialisation considers it a bit nonsensical to decide to ignore all that evolution and only interpret music using the current contemporary ideas about music.

I am a gamer. I have played games for as long as I remember, from the very early days of computing, stealing precious minutes on my dad's work machine to play black and white games like Dungeon of Doom on one of the earliest (pre-Jobs) Macs. This has evolved into a love of games on the PC. Consoles I have generally shunned (except for handhelds), mostly because I am really uncoordinated with a controller, feeling much more at home with a keyboard and mouse. My current hardware include a Nintendo Switch, Nvidia Shield Tablet, a lovely S4 mini PC (amazingly with a GTX 1060 fitted!) and an XPS 15. Enough for gaming at home and on the go.

I am a father. The proud father of 2 daughters, however this does limit my gaming time. Thus, I only try to play quality games now. Obviously, I won't write too much about them here!

I am a nerd. I had also studied Physics and Theoretical Physics at university in addition to Music. Thus, I love reading news about Science and Technology. I love tinkering with computers, I love this crypto stuff and I love learning about things!
