introduction
Greetings Steemit community! I'm so glad to finally be here. It took a while for my account to be confirmed but it looks like my tweet to @steemit did the trick, thanks.
My name is Brian. I heard about Steemit back in 2016 but kind of thought it was just another fad like so many other blogging community sites out there. Niume, for example, was a good one that went belly-up last year. I didn't understand the awesomeness of Steemit until a month or two ago.
My full comprehension of said awesomeness occurred when I was writing a guide about EOS (I'm a freelance writer specializing in crypto and blockchain - more on that in a minute).
In my research, I learned that Steemit, Bitshares, and now EOS all had a common denominator in Daniel Larimer (I think that's his name?) I also learned that Steemit has the most active blockchain today, processing the most transactions and doing it very fast.
I learned a lot more too but figure most of you here already know all about that. So back to my intro.
I'm a freelance writer specializing in finance and technology. Given that crypto is the perfect intersection of the two, it's my favorite topic. And I've been an early adopter of crypto going back to 2014. I'm excited about how blockchain has already begun to change our world.
I still have to read through the instructions of how to use this platform (I see how to insert images but not how to create subheadings). I just wanted to post something real quick before I forget because I have a lot of sites that I post on. Another great one I just learned about is called Cryptonicles. Anyone else familiar with it?
I've been active on quite a few forums and community blogging sites the past year or so, and let me tell you, it's terrible. Most forum mods censor anything they don't like. And trolls are EVERYWHERE. Just like on social media, there are armies of paid trolls who troll any legitimate discussion of anything controversial or important. I'm looking forward to publishing here on Steemit because from what I can tell there's very little of that. I also like Tremr for the same reason, it's mostly uncensored and free of trolls.
I will be sharing some of my writings along with some sweet crypto memes! Some of them, like this one, come from @ crypto memes, a funny Twitter account I started following.
I have also begun to create some of my own, though they're not quite as funny as that guy on Twitter who makes them:
