Todays GAMER SPOTLIGHT: Heroes of the Storm AKA HotS!

As you saw in Ep.#002/001 we are spotlighting Blizzard's Heroes of the Storm!   For those who dont know much about video games,  HotS, AKA Heroes Of The Storm is a 5v5 PVP game very similar to the world classic DOTA and DOTA 2 (ums games from WC3 TFT).  Each player chooses a character to play for the duration of 1 game or round.  Utilizing many different characters from all the BLIZZARD entertainment sectors.  World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Starcraft, Diablo They then face off in a large scale warefare against each other, with the end goal being to destroy the opposing teams "fortress." 

 

 The interesting part of this game is that both the sides also have "villages" that consist of towers and gates that you must "push" or destroy to pass.  These "villages" also have soldiers that they push out (again, both sides red and blue.).  This adds an interesting dynamic to the game. 

TODAYS GAMEPLAY : JAINA

Today I wanted to practice a hero I have seen but never used in HotS.  I truly enjoy using this type of hero due to its high level of interactive-ness.  There are many manual skills that involve timing and aiming.  To truly master a hero like Jaina, you must also master the order in which you use the skills.  I truly had an amazing time with this first time play with Jaina.  

As you can see I lean towards using the first ability which may be harder to aim, but well worth the damage.  I started getting used to the combos and the skill order.  I would advise that you get the ability that makes cone of cold freeze enemies.  Works amazing for both turning the tides in battle and using to lock hero while you get the heck OUTTA there!  Although we lost, I had a great time and feel I did quite well (I am no pro...)

Insider Gamer Tip Time!

1. Always keep an eye on the mini-map... ALWAYS! It can give amazing insight to the overall scheme/ flow of the game.  In a world where most people dont call the lane MIA (missing in action) you always gotta be on your toes!
2. Its totally fine to hang behind the lines.  From what I have noticed, in HotS, you get the same amount of xp whether you get the "creep" (enemy village soldier) kill or not.  So dont feel you always need to be in the direct action.  Be there, Be patient, and wait for your MOMENT!
3. Make sure to be a team player.  This game is based almost solely on early-mid game teamwork.  What this means is being in the team battles and doing what you need too.  For example, if you are a caster, you should be rushing in first.  PLAY YOUR ROLE

1. Always go for the "timed" event.  HotS has input a nifty timer system where it triggers different events mid game.  Whether its grabbing a totem, or fighting "creeps" to collect tokens, DO IT! It can make or break the game in your favor!
