MOHD AZIZI BIN CHE HUSIN

Mohd Azizi Bin Che Husin was born in small rural village Kampung Rahmat, Ayer Lanas, Jeli, Kelantan, Malaysia in 1969, on June, 30. There were 7 members in Che Husin family. They included mother Rusiah Binti Awang, father Che Husin Bin Ismail and 4 other siblings Mohd Azilan Che Husin who was born in 1973, Noraida Che Husin who was born in 1977, Mohd Azian Che Husin who was born in 1981 and the youngest NorAzlina Che Husin who was born in 1985.

When Mohd Azizi was a little cute boy, he lived in small house in Kampung Rahmat, Jeli, Kelantan. His neighborhood was a remote rural village surrounded by rubber tree farm and a lot of small hills. His father and mother works as a rubber tapper for livelihood. Main source of income for almost 90% of the villagers also is as a rubber tapper.

Most of the villagers got source of clean water supply from water well by digging small deep hole until reaching ground water level and then put 120cm to 150cm diameter precast concrete culvert as a retaining wall.

They will use pail and small rope to collect water from the water well. Water from this water well are so cold in the early morning. His sweetest memories during his year 1 in primary school is, have to queue with 4 others of his cousins in the early morning to brush his teeth and take a bath with this very-very cold water before walk to school.

During his primary school, his village don't have electricity supply except for nighttime from 7pm until 7 am only. This electricity supply were provided by Malaysian Government under their agencies formerly known as Lembaga Letrik Negara (LLN). Electricity was energise using very big diesel generator which is enough to give supply for almost 400 houses in this village. But because of his family life in poverty, his father don't afford to have electricity supply for their house. So, if he want to study or reading novel during night, he have to use oil lamp which is using kerosene. This oil lamp will produce a lot of black smoke and if he study or reading novel until late night, he will smile himself once he see his face on mirror in the morning. Both of his nose are full with black smoke.

His sweetest memories during his childhood is during night before sleep, because his house only have 1 bedroom, he will sleep in one corner beside kitchen area which has small window. Before he slept, he will open up the window and stare the bright stars and the full moon. Sometimes when he stare too long to the full moon, he will capture one image like this one.

Until today when he stare to the full moon, he still can capture the said image.

Some of happiest memories during his childhood is during school holiday. He with his two friends and sometimes joined by his younger brother will go to the small river which is located about 100 metres from his house to bath. He will play war game. He will dig small hole as his fortress which can accommodate for two child and strengthen his fortress with the mud. At the same time, he will make his small and big bomb for preparation to attack or to protect their fortress if attack by enemies. After attacking each other, their body are full with mud and to clean it they will jump into the river right behind their fortress.

Another favourite war game which he always been play with his friends are like this one.

This weapon are made from small bamboo. Small fruit called "buah cenerai" are used as a bullet. When he put this small fruit into bamboo hole which act as a weapon barrel and knock it to fully accommodate the small bamboo hole (weapon barrel), then with the other bamboo with handle and smaller bamboo which will act as a trigger. When he push the trigger into the bamboo hole(weapon barrel), the bullet will explode with the small sounds like pistol.

Another activity during school holiday are shoot small birds using slingshots like this one. small rock (normally he can get it near roadside) are use as a bullet.

With this activity, he and his friends always play in small jungle near his village. When he felt bored with this activity, he will ask his friends to hiking small hill which is located behind his village. In this small hill, there are small streams with small waterfalls. before go hiking to the waterfalls, he and his friends will buy some packets of instant noodle "maggi" mee and bring along small pot and plastic dish plate. When he and his friends finish bathing with cold waterfalls and their stomach starting to make sound, he and his friends will cook "maggi" mee in the middle of jungle for their lunch.

During his early childhood, he always close to the nature. Jungle is his football field. River and waterfalls is his swimming pool.

Mohd Azizi completed 17 years of education. He attended Ayer Lanas Primary School from year 1976 until year 1980 for his standard 1 until his standard 5. After finish his "Ujian Penilaian" during his standard 5, he further his study in religious school in small town called Tanah Merah for two years which is located about 50km away from his village. After that he apply and accepted to further his study in prestigious religious school in Kelantan state i.e. Maahad Muhammadi Secondary School for another four years from year 1982 until year 1985. After finish his "Sijil Rendah Pelajaran" on year 1985, he applied to further his study in mechanical engineering in Technical Institute Terengganu (TIT) for two years from year 1986 until year 1987.

Then, after finish his "Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia" on year 1987, Mohd Azizi had applied and accepted to be one of the student under Faculty of Built Environment, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Skudai, Johor, majoring in quantity surveyor in year 1988/1989 session. He finish his Diploma in Quantity Surveying in year 1993. He had to spend four and half years to finish his diploma due to failed in main subject in his Final Exam during his first year.

When Mohd Azizi was 23 years old, he got his first job as a assistant quantity surveyor with one of the Class "C" Civil & Building Contractor (Bakti Insani Sdn. Bhd.) in Johor Baharu Town. This job paid 700 hundred Malaysian Ringgit. Major task during his service under this Class "C" building contractor are including both pre-contract and post-contract stage. Luckily, three months after he works in Johor Baharu, he got better offer from Class "A" Building Contractor (Kheng Bee Co. Sdn. Bhd.) in his hometown i.e. Kota Bharu, Kelantan. He work at company head office as a assistant quantity surveyor. This new job also paid 700 hundred Malaysian Ringgit a month. After he work about three month in company head office, he then asked by his employer to be transferred to project site which is located in Kedah. His position then promoted to be site quantity surveyor for Construction & Completion of Kuala Nerang Hospital, Kedah, Malaysia. Unfortunately, his service with this company is only lasting for about one year after he got another better offer from prestigious construction company named Perspec Prime Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. which is their headquarters located in Ampang, Selangor. For this new company, his position also as a site quantity surveyor. With this company, he had completed two resort project complete with golf course i.e. Pedu Lake Golf Resort, located in Pedu, Kedah and Kenyir Lake Golf Resort, located in Terengganu. Pedu Lake Golf Resort now known as Mutiara Pedu Lake Resort and Kenyir Lake Golf Resort known as Kenyir Lakeview Resort.

After completion of Kenyir Lake Resort project, he then asked by his employer to come back to head office because at that time his company didn't have any new construction project yet. He immediately with his family at that time with his wife and his three small childs have to move from remote village near to Kenyir Lake Resort and find new house in Kuala Lumpur. After 3 months staying and working in Kuala Lumpur Metropolis, he feel that life in Kuala Lumpur Metropolis are much-much more complicated. He always trapped for hours in traffic jammed during journey to workplace and going back home after work. He felt that, working and staying in big Metropolis like Kuala Lumpur is very difficult for him especially with the high cost of living. One more thing, he felt that he can't stay in this new life style because from his early childhood until now he never stayed in such busiest metropolis like Kuala Lumpur.

Not Later, he ask his fellow coursemate during his study in university to find him job in Kuala Terengganu town. Luckily few days later, his friend tell him about job vacancy as a quantity surveyor in Class "D" building contractor in Kuala Terengganu. He immediately call up the manager of the said enterprise company and apply for that position. He immediately asked by that manager to attend the interview session with him two days later. Once he got this new job interview invitation, he then without thinking further asked his wife to pack all their stuff and later that night he rent a lorry and move back to Kuala Terengganu.

He then, without any hesitation accept offer from his new employer even though his salary offer much lower than he can get from his previous employer in Kuala Lumpur. But, he realize that, with the low cost of living in small town like Kuala Terengganu, he still can survive even though his salary much more lower than before.

He then, work for this company for almost 9 years from year 1997 until year 2005. From the very first day he report duty in this sole proprietor company, his position is as a quantity surveyor, cum purchaser and also project manager. During his service, he manage to complete one mosque building, one pre-school project, two sewage treatment plant projects and his very big achievements is manage to complete 2 block (4 storey) school buildings in less than 8 months.

After almost two years of service with this sole proprietor company, his employer offer him new position in the company as a project director as appreciation to his hardworking during two years of his service with this company. Later, he own 15% of share in newly established private limited company. After that, for almost 5 years he didn't received any dividend or director's allowance or whatsoever from his employer except 1 month salary for yearly bonus received before Aidil Fitri celebration every year. He is also never had yearly salary increment for almost five years after he become one of the company directors. With his monthly income about 3000 Ringgit Malaysia, he is always facing financial problem especially at the end of the month because his family from 5 family members now become 7 family members.

As a comparison, his employer during this late five years always have what so called a business trip to overseas with the government agencies heads sometimes to Gold Coast , Australia, and sometimes to Bandung Island, Indonesia and frequently to Vietnam or Thailand allegedly to lobby for new projects. All the business trip expenses were borned by company. Not only that, his employer also engaged in second marriage and after his marriage he bought a new semi-detached house for his second wife.

In the middle of year 2005, when he realized, for almost 5 years he didn't get nothing and own nothing from his directorship in the company, he then ask his employer to withdraw his share from the company. His employer refuse to pay 15% of the company share which belongs to him with the reason the company now in very big financial issue. If refer to latest audited company account, his 15% share now worth around 70,000 Ringgit Malaysia. Unfortunately, instead of paying him 15% his share, his employer only offer him to accept "Proton Wira" car (2000cc with diesel engine) make on year 1997, worth only 10,000 Ringgit Malaysia. He has no choice and have to accept that offer even though he felt that it not worth it for his hardworking during last 5 years service with the company.
