Memories

Looking back at these pictures reminds me of our hard time during the year 1992-1993, when my husband had an accident that forced him to use crutches for about 4 months. We were living in Guelph, Ontario at that time where I did mas master degree, but he was traveling back and forth every day to Waterloo (one hour away by bus) where he did his master degree as well.

So, imagine with the crutches .., sometime he had to bring our daughter in the stroller to the bus stop to wait for me right after my class. The time space was very tight. If he had waited for me at home, he would have missed his bus. So, the 'easy' way was to bring her to the bus stop or even sometime to the bus station and waited for me to take our daughter back to our apartment. With him using crutches, surely it was not an easy task for him.

It was a tough time for the three of us. But, I realize later, those time was one of the occasions when we had to cooperate well with each other: me, him, and our daughter. Something that had shaped the way of our relationships developed until now.

I never stop thanking Allah for whatever we are now. For each minute we spend together, in sadness or happiness. May Allah always bless our family.. Aaminn.
