own your tokens, your items, your avatars, even your own exchange

Just have a few questions about this...

How are these tokens/items owned?
Where are they stored - on the chain, or in your own DBs and then the ownership is simply logged as a custom JSON or wallet memo?
Can they only be traded in-game?
