Hi I'm Ash,

I'm a 25 yr creative from the UK and currently taking part in the D&AD new blood academy, from the 11th to 22nd July.

In short the Academy is a creative boot camp for people who want to get into the creative industry, that could be design, illustration, photography, advertising or branding.

The next couple of posts i want to talk about what I've learnt and pass that information on to you.

To start with I'll be talking about 2 of the biggest things I've learnt so far, don't worry you don't have to be a designer to learn something from these.

1. The Creative Method

We all have the power to come up with amazing ideas but a lot of people don't know where to start. I'll be going into detail about a creative method that works.

2. Storytelling

“The shortest distance between two people is a story.”

Humans have been telling stories since the beginning of time and the stories we tell all follow a few simple story techniques.

As humans we are creative and inquisitive by nature learning these 2 fundamentals will allow us to maximize that creativity and in doing so make our life/the world a better place. I'm not a lecturer nor am I a writer so i'll be explaining these in a way anyone can understand.
