STorY

I stay and have lived in Nigeria for more than 14 years, which makes me a citizen. I currently stay in Uyo, Akwaibom state. I school here, I party here, I do all the young adult stuff here.
Living in Uyo is quite fun when you see it as paradise compared to all of Nigeria's major states.
Uyo is actually accounts for 30% of Nigeria's oil revenue, Rich in biodiversity, among the states with best roads and infrastructure and relatively peaceful.
I'm not from Uyo, but I've come to appreciate the state, the tribe and culture here.
The part of Nigeria I grew up in, stories about the people staying and from Uyo wasn't what it was today.I was a victim of what a literary writer ;Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie called 'a single story'. I let the popular dark side stories of Akwaibom cloud my mind that I forgot they may probably have a good side to them.
The same is true as how some people see africa, they've heard stories that made them actually think that africans never have enough and must rely on external help.Truth it may seem, All that is required to totally dispel that as the first thing on our mind when we hear Africa is to have an experience here; Visit or Mingle with people wherever you are, You'll probably find beauty in their imperfections.
