Introduction

Hello there. My name is @alheath, I'm 23 and as you may have gathered, I like to write. I started out four years ago by writing children's stories, two of which are self-published. These are The Adventures of Henrietta, followed by Always Behind You. More recently, I've started branching out into writing for adults and wrote my first horror story, Sam's Diary, for NaNoWriMo in November.

That reminds me, I still need to edit that. I'm working on editing my third children's book, Daydream Express, at the moment and I can tell you that it feels a little like dragging a tractor through mud. I'm pretty sure a lot of you can relate to that feeling. But I have faith that the end product will be worth reading.

Someone's got to, right?

Outside of my writing, I work with children. I'm starting university in September, where I'll be studying Psychology with a view to becoming an educational psychologist. It'll be an awful lot of time and work, but I'm excited for the adventures and challenges it will bring.

Yes, I may also want to spend a small part of my career building Lego, drawing pictures and reading stories in funny voices. Who better to share that pleasure with than children?

My other hobbies include reading, drawing, painting, playing the ukulele and singing. I perform at the odd open mic night with a good friend of mine from time to time and it's a lot of fun. Nobody's thrown tomatoes at me yet so I don't think I'm terrible.

So, that's me. I've only been a member of Steemit for a few days, so I'm still looking around and reading some of your posts. It's been fun so far.
