2nd Introduction - this time the proper way
Hello steemit world,
nice to be here. I've joined this gorgeous platform in November 2016, but after two blog posts, I vanished:
My introduction post at that time was a very bad and shallow one, real short with not to much involvement from my side, so I have to make up for it and do it properly this time.
I'm Alex, 34 at the time of writting, married to a wonderful woman, born and raised in Romania, the part of the country known as Transylvania. And no, I'm not a vampire even if I'm not allowed to stay in the sun for more then a couple of minutes without 50+ sunscreen. For a couple of months I stayed in Italy and the USA.
4 years ago, due to the job and some head hunters , I moved to Germany. I'm an engineer specialised in automotive and let's put it this way, Germany is one of the top countries in the world for this profession, especially if you speak German. But life is never predictable, and in November 2016 trough some series of events and bad choices I got fired.
Beeing unemployed was an awful feeling, right before the month of December, when Christmas comes. At that time I joined steemit, because I was desperate finding some source of income till I got a new job, but on steemit you need to build and is more then a source if income.
Besides applying for jobs I changed my hobby of playing online poker and doing sport betting to a fulltime job. I started hateing it, because the stake was so much higher then before. As a recreational player, I played the odds, very tight, without any stress. Now I had to switch to maximize profits, so I got super aggro. It was not bad, but I hated it.
In mid of December , a head hunter, with whom I had contact before, called me and offered me a position. He knew that I wanted some management position, but didn't knew about my unemployment. I got the job after of series of interviews but it was a switch from enginnering to sales, still automotive, which I can tell now, was a very good move, even if the fear of failure was SOOO BIG at the beginning. It was one of the best Christmas gifts ever.
So why back to steemit now? Because the future is in cryptocurrencies. I strongly believe in it. Now without having any survival pressure I can concentrate and build up. The first investments in cryptocurrencies I made was in 2013 where I mined some BTC, and in 2014 when, with the help of one friend, we build a LTC miner. We managed to get free electricity for the miner so only the parts we needed to invest in. A couple of years later the portofolio contains BTC, ETH(which I think will be above BTC), LTC, BTS and STEEM.
As investments, besides crypto we (my wife&I) invested in real estate. We have properties in Romania and Hungary, and in the following 3 months we will do our first two acquositions in Germany. We love the real estate because of the leverage behind it.
As hobbies I like going to the gym, even if I weigh now 100kg or 220lbs at 1.80 or 5.9, which I consider my self fat.
As a piece of advice, if you go to the gym don't neglect the legs. I love also water-polo and rugby.
And I love cars. Love to drive them. Love old ones, like the one we drove for our wedding.
Love the sport ones, because one of the perks of living in Germany is that you got excellent roads and no speed limit on most of the highways. For the people outside Germany, this is a must, come to Germany, rent a Porsche and drive it to the limit, it is legal.
And last but not least, I love to read. Almost anything. I try to read at least 2 hours a day. Beeing on steemit, I think I increased my reading time.
See you around!
If I can help you in any way, feel free to drop a line :)

The temperture here is always the same, winter or summer. Between 75-85°F and cools about 10° at night.
The worst part is the expensive food! All fruit and vegetables are 50-100% more expensive.
Even bananas and mangos, which grow here. Both are double their prices from the mainland.
Still worth it, and I love living here! :)
So investing in a banana plantation would be the real deal there. Have to convice my wife about it first. She is the real boss :D
I'd love to have a giant garden, but yes anything you could sell at the many farmer's markets would always be great business!
Let me know if you decide to come!
I'd be glad to help with what I can!
More friends are always welcome! :D
