Introducing a Porn Addict for 9 years. Will be Sharing My Life on Steemit to Help Others

I am a new member of Steemit platform. I understand creation of value is most important to the platform and its members. After many thoughts I found nothing new I could do on the platform to benefit others. Nevertheless, I believe I have a story to tell. I also believe many can identify with this story. The story is a 'past' for some, to some it is a present condition, and to many others it is waiting in the future.
It was 9 years ago I introduced myself to pornography. I was not introduced to it like many other people. I started out as a very smart kid, had rich imaginations and I did explore to an extent. The journey of pornography was one which I wished I never started, but I did!

I grew up in a city in Africa. Nine years ago, there were no android smartphones, only iPhone from Apple existed and very few had seen it, not to talk of own one. What an average person had was a Java phone. Later came Symbian phones from past legend Nokia. The architecture of these available phones made it very easy to tweak their networks and that gave us assess to unlimited free browsing tweaks. This was my undoing! Though the bandwidth was small and mostly Edge was available, that was just enough to provide me with a partner that I would journey with for many years to come-- Pornography Addiction.

However, my launch into the porn world was at a relatively young age. I had not reached puberty at the time (Sure you can guess my age already). As I grew older, my porn addiction grew into masturbation. At first it was weird but cool. The feeling was one I longed for again and again, till I became an addict. Pornography coupled with masturbation became normal way of life that I even share it with friends as an alternative to running after ladies. 

Years later I would become a Christian. The love for God made it necessary to quit my old ways. Standing and falling was the usual characteristics of my Christian journey all along. Days grace was all sufficient to keep me, and days the pressure was so much that I gave in.   I do not boast today as though I am fully recovered, as I still fall few times. I am but a work in process. 

The above is a summary of 9 years of my life. I intend to tell about each event and transition in subsequent posts. Also I am dedicating this blog strictly to posts related to addictions of all types and posts that can help the addicted. It is my vision to interview those who have fully recovered in the nearest future. Feel to mention me in related posts. If I feel it is helpful to my readers, I shall resteem.
