The Frightening Facts of Houston

As I am sure we all know, Houston is an absolute mess and needs all the help it can get and I am from Toronto and seeing this just kills me.. It would be great if us STEEMites could help out with that though! As I have donated a few bucks to help out I also just wanted to share a little bit information on the situation.

I am not too sure about what is expected in terms of what is next to come for the State(s) affected but I know the more the climate changed the more the hurricane worsened. Sea level rise attributable to climate change – some of which is due to coastal subsidence caused by human disturbance such as oil drilling – is more than half a foot (15cm) over the past few decades That means the storm surge was half a foot higher than it would have been just decades ago, meaning far more flooding and destruction.

It is awesome to see celebrities stepping up!

Not just them, many others are stepping up as well with large wage... The NFL Foundation announced Monday it would match McNair’s $1 million and donate the money to the Salvation Army and Red Cross. President Trump landed in Corpus Christi Texas earlier Tuesday. The death toll has reached 15 people, though that number may rise. Damage has been done, yes, but it is time to step up!
