THE MATRIX & PHILOSOPHY - PODCAST SERIES

I'd like to introduce myself. I've been putting content on the internet and connecting with people for discussion and human solidarity since the days of the dial-up modem. The last couple of years I have been having fun with a podcast channel in which I offer views, evaluations and comment on a wide range of topics, including philosophy east and west, yoga, meditation and spirituality, as well as current affairs and politics. Too date, I have broadcast 121 episodes. Some are recordings of public talks I give occasionally. Some are made whilst out walking which is a great way to encourage thinking.  A while ago, I did a five part series entiled The Blue Pill or the Red Pill? These deal with various philosophical ramifications of the Wachowski's seminal film, The Matrix [1999].  We take it that many of the philosophical issues brought up in The Matrix  boil down to the consequences of presupposing the binary  'real-apparent'. We outline how this is so in this introduction in  preparation for forthcoming podcasts on the real-apparanet binary's  entanglement with existentialism, metaphysics and politics/ideology.
