My introductory post

Greetings to all steemians from the various communities on this great platform. Finally good to be here. This is my introductory post. I'm not much of a writer so, don't expect a lengthy post from me(Lol). My name is Rebecca but I've chosen @okpokhen as my username. I've heard quite little about blockchain technology and the prospects that comes with it.

I learnt about steemit which is built on blockchain through @joyce-okpobo, a steem evangelist. She told me that it was a social media platform that rewards you for writing and curating contents unlike the traditional facebook, twitter and other social media platform. She talked about pitching one's dream on the blockchain and getting rewards for doing so. I was inspired and decided to come on board.

Talking about myself, I hail from Edo State, Nigeria. I'm not much of a blogger. That was why I was reluctant to join this Platform. Since steemit isn't all about blogging, I know I can find my perfect niche through my skills and craft. I've met people from several walks of life and gained experience in several skills. I love to bake and cook. So, I'm going to be flooding my Steemit page with recipes for different Nigerian dishes and snacks. I'm into art and craft. Recently, I just learnt to make trendy facinators and hats for ladies. You'll get to see it soon.

I'm much of a church person, personally because of upbringing and also because of my personal experiences. I enjoy being around people as this gives me an opportunity to learn from their wealth of experiences. As I go on on this journey, I do hope that this platform would help me meet with new people.
