Hello Good Steemians! (Official/Formal Intro!)
I created a Steemit account a few weeks ago, and made an initial post in a form a little too vague or poetic to be useful as a good introduceyourself file. So please allow me to reintroduce myself in a more suitable way!
My name is Melech ben Chaya, from Montreal, but I live in Toronto Canada. I earn a living by making and repairing solar power, pallet, lift, and reach truck batteries. I also volunteer at a retirement home on sundays. I’m very close with my parents and brother, to whom I owe more than I could ever calculate... I love studying Torah, Zohar, philosophy and nature. I also enjoy black and white photography, woodworking, and drawing…
(Some of the batteries I work with.)
I’m so happy to join you in this new community for several reasons. More than anything, I love the idea that anyone from anywhere, can use this platform to share their very best skills, attributes, stories, and most importantly their visions, while potentially getting rewarded in a useful and significant manner for their efforts and candour.
Being a member for only a few weeks, I find myself exploring, learning and enjoying so much already. I’m enjoying poetry and short stories that I would never normally read, and I’m studying about subjects outside of my expertise. Although I could always have chosen to do this on the internet, and I sometimes do, I find here on Steemit, people are automatically sharing their information in more personal ways which generally makes roaming here more interesting and appealing… Thanks to @pjheinz for my favourite educational series so far; https://steemit.com/science/@pjheinz/impossible-science-1 And thanks @indigowaltz for my favourite poem so far; “Purple Petals.” https://steemit.com/poetry/@indigowaltz/purple-petals-a-poem
I’m optimistic and curious about the longterm possibilities for blockchain based organizations, relating to voluntary governance, and to community and societal goal development. In particular, and with good visions in place, I’m fascinated by the notion that by using this technology, in the longterm, we could theoretically replace all taxation with voluntary contributions to real-world infrastructure and development projects. And all this, based not on force, but by a given contributor’s means and personal interests, and according to what the community is actually in need of. We can move Steemit into the position where with mutual consent, we might begin to experiment with such questions. @steemleak and @steemitcharity are two early examples of this great potential.
Most importantly, this experiment can happen simultaneous to, yet I wouldn’t say parallel with, the current systems of (inter)national, provincial, and municipal non-voluntary governance. This last point is critical because as Dan said in his recent post;
“The only non-violent society that will have staying power is the one that can be born under oppression and through its own strength overthrow that oppression while adhering to its own principles.”
So Steeming together, let us develop a vision and see what we can give birth to, while maintaining, fulfilling and advancing our philosophical and moral principles!
And let us generate the longterm strength of this community, by continuing to add content to the platform in order to make it a truly useful resource for information research and sharing, without forgetting a little entertainment and enjoyment! Aligned with this objective, and while participating in the consumption and curation of content, I hope to share some of my skills, interests, knowledge, creations and experience…
It sounds funny to say, but please “Follow” me, and expect articles and posts including or regarding;
- Thought experiments.
- Transitioning from taxation to charity.
- The seeds of words.
- Examinations of Phi (1.618) and other universal constants.
- Sacred geometry artwork and how to.
- Numbers as archetypes.
- Poetry.
- Woodworking pieces and how to.
- Batteries and electricity.
- Experiments in consciousness and personal development.
- And more…
And for now, here are a couple examples of my art...
(Basswood Tzedakah Box for Charity.)
(Mandala in Pen.)
