An Introduction to my Life. Science, Microscopic Things, Yoga, Pets, and Nature!
Hello everyone!
My name is Alex, and I am happy to be joining the Steemit community! A good friend of mine told me about all of the positive and interesting stories that are shared on here and I knew that I wanted to contribute. So here I am!
That photo was taken before my first day of attending university here in San Diego. I study Biochemistry and am constantly fascinated with things on the micro scale.
Speaking of which, I always am humbled by how much can be observed through a microscope. It really makes me pause and think about how intricate life is. Here are some of my favorite photos taken in a few of my classes:
The first two images are of Lactobacillus bacteria that I cultured for a Biology class, and the third one is of a root cap from a plant we grew throughout the term. As I mentioned, I am happiest while learning about tiny things, and that interest extends into nature as well! I love collecting mushrooms from forests and trying to identify them. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from a scavenge back in January.
Aren't they beautiful?!
I also spend most of my time studying in a space ship. Here is my campus library!
My school is my life right now, and I have been fortunate enough to make a few friends through an on campus job that I secured last term.
They definitely help me pull through tough times when studies become a bit overwhelming.
Yoga also helps with de-stressing and I volunteer at a studio for trade!
I have a soft spot in my heart for cats and dogs as well. Here is my baby Kiba.
He doesn't let me study!
My dad's pit:
I've been thinking about how I want to contribute to this community, and I think that I would enjoy making a Science series centered around chemistry. I love spreading new ideas and findings from this area, so any input would be welcome!
If you have made it this far, thank you for taking a minute to catch a glimpse of my life. At times, studies can be overwhelming, but balancing stress with positivity is a great way to stay healthy.
See you around!

Nice to see you on steemit :D
Have a great day.
Thank you bud! I just made my first science mini-lecture if you'd be interested in learning a bit about atoms and molecules!
Welcome to Steemit!

Very cool! The mushrooms are beautiful!!Looking forward to more posts!
Thank you! I love finding the little guys in the forest!
Me too!!! I live in a wooded area so I see them pop up everywhere! We went camping years ago and I was just amazed at all of the different colors and sizes of mushrooms!!
It's wonderful to meet you. You seem like a very focused, inquisitive, and interesting person. Wish you the very best in your education and beyond!
Thank you so much for your kind words! I definitely am trying to find my way in the world of science! It definitely brings me joy to learn about things that we can't see with the naked eye.
Welcome to Steem @battlr I have upvoted and sent you a tip
Wow thank you!
Welcome to Steem! Enjoy this wonderful and creative place.
I already am! And the community has been overwhelmingly amazing!
Thank you! Im finding that I already am!
Welcome to Steemit captain. <3
Thank you buddy! Glad to be here <3
Welcome klye-friend!
Thank you kindly! Any friend of Klye is a friend of mine. Except for hookers.
Such a happy woofer!! Awesome space ship, great to see another balanced individual on steem it.
Hope you enjoy your time here! <3
Thank you friend! Sophie is always a happy camper. Shes afraid of kittens and doesn't like to walk on cold surfaces.
I hope sophie likes the soft pettings. :)
Indeed! But not before running circles in the yard for an hour or so.
