Jawab mereka, "Apakah kamu hendak menjadikan kami sebagai bahan ejekan?") artinya suruhan kamu itu akan menyebabkan kami menjadi sasaran olok-olok dan tertawaan orang. (Jawab Musa, "Aku berlindung) maksudnya aku tidak sudi (kepada Allah) akan (menjadi golongan orang-orang yang jahil.") yang suka berolok-olok. Tatkala mereka ketahui bahwa Musa bersungguh-sungguh
