Myths of Memory Palace-Terms and Conditions of Use

One step away from graduating from med school and member of steemit for less than a week, I think writting about the technique that literally got me through all those difficult exams is the proper step for me to take. First of all many people are skeptical about the effectiveness of the technique, well I assure you that if a guy like me with this bad concentration and memory could evolve this much through this technique to get his degree and planning to compete in memory competitions then everyone could do it.
I will skip the basics of the technique because I have seen other articles in the site about it and get straight to my point..
First of all you don't have to remember the location you want to store your memories in absolute detail, you really don't need to know what color the walls are painted or how many pencils are in the desk, you only need to be able to focus in the targeted area, the loci, in which you are going to place your image. Don't get me wrong, it is good to be as familiar with the place as you can be but you can always perform miracles with just the basic architecture of the building or furnitures.
The second misconception are the images, "put smell, sound, touch, feel" in the image to make it stick to your mind..Well if you can do that it is great, but again don't expect to see the image clear in your mind's eye like watching a movie..The images mostly are conceptual. They are feelings that you see something, that you interact with it, don't strive to produce the atcual senses just exaggerate it , give it colour action and connect it with both the location it is placed and if possible wth the next image as well. Know that each word can be converted into an image with two ways. One way is to create an image of the meaning of the word for example:
cinderella-
This works great for words you have a clear idea about their meaning.
The other way is to form an image by the letters of the word for example
cinderella-you picture a cinder block
smashed into the face of L ( a character from a famous anime death note)
At the end of the day you only have to realise that memory palace depends only on your imagination and your imagination has not limits. You can use it however you like and when you find your style you will see tremendous results.
Getting advices is not bad but don't expect to improve without actual engaging with the technique and always read articles of people that compete in tournaments because nowdays tons of articles about it are produced but not everyone writting them knows how to use the technique in advanced level thus being able to grasp its true nature.
