People aren't asking you to leave Steemit, they are asking you to not use bid bots. If you have been away for a couple years, it is worth noting that things have changed since the last hard fork, and bit bot use is heavily frowned upon by the community. On the other hand, changes have also brought about better curation rewards for honest votes. I suggest finding other bloggers to support and building a network of engaged readers. It's slower, but much more effective and fulfilling.
