Steem Culture - Interview with girolamomarotta - Leader Italian [Eng-Spanish]
Because the users of the platform cannot live in the different communities, due to the language barrier, and time differences, many people do not know the influential and key people within the ecosystem in other latitudes, it is interesting to know more about their work, and their vision of the platform, so ask a series of very specific questions.
Who is girolamomarotta
I am a 36 year old Italian user. I work as a Sales Agent in the pharmaceutical sector, I love pizza, rock music, football and I am passionate about cryptocurrencies. I have been here on the Steem blockchain since December 2017 and immediately joined the Italian community, where I received help, information and support.
What projects have you worked on for the steem ecosystem?
Many...in @steempostitalia, the Italian community of the first Steem era, I was Project Manager, Project Executive and Master. Regarding projects, in 2018 I created two initiatives that have had a good following and some success and have helped many users to grow on the platform. One completely original ( The Best Power Up of the Week ) and another ( Curation SPI ) inspired by an already existing format, but totally new for the Italian community.
As a Master, I took care of welcoming and training new users, giving them all the most useful indications and suggestions to orient themselves on the platform.
For you which are the devs, witness more committed with the platform at the moment?
I really appreciate the activity of the @symbionts group, despite being victims of unwarranted downvotes, they continue to work great and support communities, small users and those who delegate them their SP.
And then I worship @steemchiller, the genius who gave us Steemworld.org, a tool that is a world heritage site. If Steemworld were not there, Steemit would not be the same thing...it's by far the site at the top of the pages I visit the most.
If you could describe the current ecosystem from a social point of view, i.e. witness, devs, community leaders, content creators, how would you describe them?
This time I would like to start with Steemit inc. Team. The novelty is that the Team has approached users in a way they have never done before. And this has generated a series of chain reactions that have been good for the platform. Creating the Country Reps, for example, was very useful. The contents also convince me...they are more personal and warm, there are many active challenges and people participate by committing themselves. New entrants are welcomed and guided in a very careful way. In short, I think that from a social point of view, we are doing a really great job. The Steem environment is more familiar and that's really cool.
What model do you expect steem users to follow, how should they engage with the platform?
Engagement is important, but I'm not a supporter of forced interaction. I don't like it when I see users commenting on all posts, just to write something or to be seen. I think it's the post or the author himself who should have that appeal that leads many people to take an interest and write their opinion. Only if we bring value, publish something interesting that is not found elsewhere and give the reader an advantage, we can think of evolving positively.
What are the characteristics they should have to be leaders?
Surely you need to have knowledge to guide others, the ability to understand what are the best qualities of the individual members of a group to make the most of them. It's necessary to be able to face difficult situations with clarity and make choices that are always in the interest of the group. And then you must always be on the front line. Never command, always do first.
What do you think about the changes you are implementing with Tron?
I think it's a fantastic opportunity. I confess I'm not that experienced with Tron, but from now on, I will learn more and more. I am very excited by this news, it's like discovering that I'm suddenly in a new world. In my opinion we will go at double the speed and maybe even more than double the value of the tokens...who knows.
Could you tell us what the Italian community is like?
The Italian Community, until more or less a year ago, was one of the most organized and advanced in the entire system. Then the leaders stopped and many users quit. At the end of July of this year there were 3-4 users left and we resumed founding the community Italy and the @italygame group together with @mikitaly and @sardrt. Now, after only 4 months, we have 558 subscribers and dozens of users who write every day (75 active at the moment). There is a lot of harmony, a lot of freedom even if abuses such as plagiarism, spam or false identities are clearly not allowed. It seems to me that we are all really on the same page. It was really a rebirth...I met many new people, but users I have known for some time and who have shared many beautiful experiences with me are also coming back.
What advice and recommendations could you give people?
I say to do everything with passion and commitment. To help others and to try to improve, to be curious and resilient, but never to distort and always remain themselves.
What mistakes should community users avoid.
To those who join a community or a Social Network like Steemit, I advise not to pretend. Those who only want to take without making a contribution, or limiting themselves to the bare minimum, will not go far. Instead, if you enter with the right mentality, that of demonstrating that you are in the game and want to do your best to build something together, then the path is the right one.

Debido a que los usuarios de la plataforma no pueden hacer vida en las diferentes comunidades, debido a la barrera de idioma, y diferencias de horario muchas personas desconocen las personas influyentes y claves dentro del ecosistema de otras latitudes, es interesante conocer más su labor, y su visión sobre la plataforma, es por ello que realice una serie de preguntas muy especificas.
¿Quien es Girolamomarotta?
Soy un usuario italiano de 36 años. Trabajo como agente de ventas en el sector farmacéutico, me encanta la pizza, la música rock, el fútbol y me apasionan las criptodivisas. He estado aquí en la cadena de bloques de Steem desde diciembre de 2017 e inmediatamente me uní a la comunidad italiana, donde recibí ayuda, información y apoyo.
¿En qué proyectos ha trabajado para el ecosistema del steem?
Muchos... en @steempostitalia, la comunidad italiana de la primera era de Steem, fui Director de Proyecto, Ejecutivo de Proyecto y Maestro. En cuanto a los proyectos, en 2018 creé dos iniciativas que han tenido un buen seguimiento y cierto éxito y han ayudado a muchos usuarios a crecer en la plataforma. Una completamente original ( The Best Power Up of the Week ) y otra ( Curation SPI ) inspirada en un formato ya existente, pero totalmente nueva para la comunidad italiana.
Como Maestro, me he ocupado de acoger y formar a los nuevos usuarios, dándoles todas las indicaciones y sugerencias más útiles para orientarse en la plataforma.
Para usted, ¿cuáles son los devs, testigo más comprometido con la plataforma en este momento?
Aprecio mucho la actividad del grupo @symbionts, a pesar de ser víctimas de descensos injustificados, siguen trabajando a lo grande y apoyando a las comunidades, a los pequeños usuarios y a los que les delegan su SP.
Y luego admiro a @steemchiller, el genio que nos dio Steemworld.org, una herramienta que es patrimonio de la humanidad. Si Steemworld no estuviera allí, Steemit no sería lo mismo, es de lejos el sitio en la parte superior de las páginas que más visito.
Si pudiera describir el ecosistema actual desde un punto de vista social, es decir, testigos, desarrolladores, líderes comunitarios, creadores de contenido, ¿cómo los describiría?
Esta vez me gustaría empezar con Steemit inc. Equipo. La novedad es que el Equipo se ha acercado a los usuarios como nunca antes lo habían hecho. Y esto ha generado una serie de reacciones en cadena que han sido buenas para la plataforma. La creación de los Country Reps, por ejemplo, ha sido muy útil. Los contenidos también me convencen... son más personales y cálidos, hay muchos desafíos activos y la gente participa comprometiéndose. Los nuevos participantes son bienvenidos y guiados de una manera muy cuidadosa. En resumen, creo que desde el punto de vista social, estamos haciendo un gran trabajo. El ambiente de Steem es más familiar y eso es realmente genial.
¿Qué modelo espera que sigan los usuarios de la plataforma, cómo deberían comprometerse con ella?
El compromiso es importante, pero no soy partidario de la interacción forzada. No me gusta cuando veo a los usuarios comentando en todos los mensajes, sólo para escribir algo o para ser vistos. Creo que es el post o el propio autor el que debería tener ese atractivo que lleva a mucha gente a interesarse y a escribir su opinión. Sólo si aportamos valor, publicamos algo interesante que no se encuentra en ningún otro sitio y le damos una ventaja al lector, podemos pensar en evolucionar positivamente.
¿Cuáles son las características que deberían tener para ser líderes?
Seguramente se necesita tener conocimientos para guiar a los demás, la capacidad de comprender cuáles son las mejores cualidades de los miembros individuales de un grupo para sacarles el máximo provecho. Es necesario ser capaz de afrontar situaciones difíciles con claridad y tomar decisiones que siempre sean de interés para el grupo. Y entonces siempre debes estar en la primera línea. Nunca ordenes, siempre lo haces primero.
¿Qué piensas de los cambios que estás implementando con Tron?
Creo que es una oportunidad fantástica. Confieso que no tengo tanta experiencia con Tron, pero a partir de ahora, aprenderé más y más. Estoy muy emocionado con esta noticia, es como descubrir que de repente estoy en un mundo nuevo. En mi opinión iremos al doble de velocidad y quizás incluso más del doble del valor de las fichas... quién sabe.
¿Podría decirnos cómo es la comunidad italiana?
La Comunidad Italiana, hasta hace más o menos un año, era una de las más organizadas y avanzadas de todo el sistema. Luego los líderes se detuvieron y muchos usuarios renunciaron. A finales de julio de este año quedaban 3-4 usuarios y reanudamos la fundación de la comunidad Italia y el grupo @italygame junto con @mikitaly y @sardrt. Ahora, después de sólo 4 meses, tenemos 558 suscriptores y docenas de usuarios que escriben todos los días (75 activos en este momento). Hay mucha armonía, mucha libertad, incluso si los abusos como el plagio, el spam o las falsas identidades claramente no están permitidos. Me parece que todos estamos realmente en la misma página. Fue realmente un renacimiento... conocí a mucha gente nueva, pero los usuarios que he conocido durante algún tiempo y que han compartido muchas experiencias hermosas conmigo también están volviendo
¿Qué consejos y recomendaciones podrías dar a la gente?
Yo digo que hagamos todo con pasión y compromiso. Ayudar a los demás e intentar mejorar, ser curioso y resistente, pero nunca distorsionar y siempre permanecer ellos mismos.
¿Qué errores deben evitar los usuarios de la comunidad?
A los que se unen a una comunidad o a una red social como Steemit, les aconsejo no fingir. Aquellos que sólo quieren tomar sin hacer una contribución, o limitarse al mínimo, no llegarán lejos. En cambio, si entran con la mentalidad correcta, la de demostrar que están en el juego y quieren hacer lo mejor para construir algo juntos, entonces el camino es el correcto.
