Raw materials and equipment needed are as follows:
- Raw Material
a. Well water, is an ice-making material.
b. PDAM water is an ice-making fuel. PDAM water is used if well water is reduced or the water does not meet the requirements.
- Auxiliary Materials
a. Salt, serves to achieve the cooling process (as a mediator) because salt water with a level of approximately 19% is most completely dissolved and there is no sedimentation in the cooling tub which has a lower freezing point compared to pure water in the ice scan.
b. NH3 or ammonia, serves as a cooler because ammonia has a boiling point of -280 F.
c. Oil and diesel, function as lubricants and fuel for production machinery.

Ice Block Making Process can be described as follows:
- Stage I (Filling Process)
Ice cans are filled with pure water using a Filling Tank as the main raw material for ice making. Ice cans used are made of 1.8 mm plate with galvanized anti-rust coating, and equipped with a frame containing 10 mold units with each mold weighing 50 kg. Filling Tanks are equipped with valves and control levels so that the filling of water can be controlled according to the tank capacity.
- Phase II (Appointment Process)
After the filling process is complete, the ice can is then lifted by the lifter and placed into a Brine Tank (cooling tub) by installing ice on the rei (a tool to facilitate the placement process) located at the top of the Brine Tank.
- Hold III (Cooling Process)
The ice can is then dipped into the Brine Tank and submerged until the water level in the ice can is parallel to the level brine tank (process tank). Brine functions as a refrigerant to take heat from the water so that the water becomes cold and will eventually freeze (become ice). The cooling process takes approximately 24 hours so that the resulting ice block is truly mature. The Brine Tank is also equipped with brine agitator (salt water stirrer) so that the resulting salt solution is more evenly distributed and the brine does not become a gel / slurry due to the temperature being too cold.
- Stage IV (Immersion Process)
If the ice block has formed (frozen) the next process is the removal of ice cans from Brine Tank to be soaked in normal water in the Dip Tank (ice release tank). This is intended to make the outer side of the ice block melt, so that the ice block is easily released from ice can.
- Stage VI (Release Process)
After the outer side of the ice block melts, then lift the ice can using rei and remove the ice from the mold, after the ice block comes out, transport it to the sorting place by launching it with can dumper.
- Stage VI (Sorting Process)
Ice blocks that have been released from ice scantadi are sorted to get decent ice blocks for sale to consumers.
Production result
The resulting ice blocks have a weight of 50 kg each. In a day it can produce 100,000 kg of ice blocks or 2000 beams every day. This figure is based on the capacity of the engine in production. The resulting ice blocks are clear white not milky white so that melting ice will last longer.
