A Bad Example

I am having an existential crisis. I wanted to show someone an example of how a link works.

So, I linked to example.com and example.com is showing a page not found error.

Is example.com now an example of a failed web site? Is it an example of a DNS propagation error?

I always felt that example.com was the one thing on the internet that I could depend upon.
