So we all know now, Net Neutrality was deregulated today. But first let me say this is not to get upvotes. This is to remind you of why it should be a non issue.

Ok, so pretty much net neutrality is about bottlenecking your download speeds. Is it fair to have Amazon and Netflix pay the companies to make their sites faster? and my answer is yes. However they must not give you less speed then the plan you purchase. That would be a crime. But i want to remind people YOU have the power to act with force by your spending. If you do not like a companies policies for whatever reason, don't pay them. Just like with Trumps tax cuts, if you do not want these companies getting a tax break or Comcast providing more speed to certain sites. Do not leave it in the hands of others. Stop relying on other people to get it done so you don't get any interruptions in you life or service. Sure it may hurt short term. But if your not giving them money they will change their policy. Money is the driving force and it is your job to act accordingly. It gets old thinking we can scream and moan about about this stuff expecting others to do it for us, so we can have our cake and eat it too. Did our founding fathers not walk in bare feet and go hungry fighting a war to get our own country? They sacrificed everything for what they believed in. I think we should be no different. If my provider drops my contracted speed, i will move to a different company. If all of them are doing the same thing i will not have internet, and Ebay is my business. I am willing to make a statement with my money. We have the right to our contracted speed's. But Comcast has a right to accept money to speed up say for instance Amazon. Fair is Fair right? but when you don't like something, or you hate the fact apple gets tax breaks, Then don't buy an apple phone.

People have totally forgot they hold all the power in the world, but you have to be willing to go without sometimes to get more. Your spending is your voice and the most powerful weapon you have.

Sometimes you have to fight the good fight.

I agree with you in large part and appreciate the perspective.

Though it's important, as well, to be aware that a full 40% of Americans only have one Internet Service Provider option in their area: https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/bjdjd4/100-million-americans-only-have-one-isp-option-internet-broadband-net-neutrality.

Thus telling people to simply take their business elsewhere leaves almost half the country out of the equation.

As well, I appreciate your commitment and I agree that in order for things to get better sacrifice is needed. Though at this point it seems unreasonable to expect anyone to forego internet.

The fact that we are in a situation in which people are either supporting ISP's which don't care for them or go without the primary form of communication in the modern world is precisely why people are outraged. And that's legitimate.
