Happy International Women Day and Recognizing Two of Steemit gems @canadian-coconut and @beanz

in #internationalwomenday7 years ago (edited)

Happy International Women Day to all the women on Steemit and around the world. You are the backbone and architect of many countries around the world. I am particularly impress with the volume of women that are taking leading roles in Politics and Policy-making decision within the Caribbean and Latin America. The trend has been quite healthy in the Caribbean dating back to 2010 with the successful campaign for Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago of Kamla Persad-Bissessar to the successful campaign for Prime Minister of Aruba in 2017 of Evelyn Wever-Croes. In quite a few of these islands women now make up a large proportion of Parliament with growing numbers seeking to become Ministers of Government in the upcoming election. Nothing is more powerful than a woman with a voice and desire to prove her merits. The recent tenure of Fed Chair Janet Yellen is an achievement women can feel proud of, taking into account what she received and what she left, many can point to the fact that she did fabulous job.

Today I like to recognize two of my favorite women on Steemit, @canadian-coconut and @beanz. Pillars of this platform, giants of the Steem blockchain. If I should use a word to describe both women my limited vocabulary would not do justice but I know one word comes to mind "passionate".

@canadian-coconut better known as Linda is a sweetheart. I first came across her blogs on vaccines after searching through topics I would be interested in on the platform. She is deeply passionate about the topic, sharing several well written blogs on the topics. Coming from a Medical Science background I am particularly impressed with the level of depth and compelling evidence she presents in her blogs. From time to time I get some take away points I can follow up on and at times I even add to the discussion. This topic is very important and one I wish we can continue to discuss in the future as I see lots of research is needed to further elucidate this area, probably Steemit can be the platform where these research are shared. She also involved in several initiatives on the platform including @familyprotection that covers areas of parenting and family dilemmas that are often forgotten. She is definitely someone to follow on Steemit as she epitomize what Steem blockchain is all about.

@beanz is another sweetheart on the platform. She is definitely a Prime Minister in the making. Ireland is well represented and has given the world a bless seed. She is actively involve "Voices of the Underground" discussing many issues affecting the Steem platform and cryptocurrency in general. It is such a joy hanging out with her and folks from "Voice of Underground" that I have dedicated my Sunday evening to contribute to the podcast. I always encourage her to get involve in Policy-making think-tanks in Ireland and if possible within the Steemit setup as she has demonstrated great leadership qualities. She works overtime on the discord dealing with Steemit related issues helping minnows get over hurdles.

Both women are pillars of the Steem Blockchain, they give so much to the platform and add so much value. They are among the most Selfless Steemians I know. Both regularly curate blogs on the platform and regularly support minnows. I am grateful for their continued support of my work and efforts on the platform and I continue to give my best because of their encouragement.

I like to recognize two more sweethearts on the platform @steem-samiam and @karinxxl, they continue to support my efforts and work on the platform an I appreciate their support. One Love from me, an I know Steemit would be a great platform with these women around.

On this International Women Day, I want to show my appreciation not only to the women mention but all the women on the platform and around the world, always remember within you holds the power to create, nurture and transform. To the men, remember they are not confined to a sex object or a marketing tool, she should not be silenced, abused or oppressed but lets us take the leading role in helping her reach her full potential, lets us take the leading role in ensuring that her rights are respected and her voiced is heard.

One Love from @daudimitch

Hey, Daudi. I really love your last part. We must promote the respect to all womans, more in our caribbean environment that crearly our culture are most "macho" than feminist in a term of respect. And It has been changing in these last century because there are more people and laws that are more stricters to protect them and the societies are getting more involved in that.

We are humanist. And as humanist we believe in equiality for all. Feminism is humanism for women, so there's no excuse to treat them like they are not human and powerful. I've been raised by wonderful women and it's the first thing I learned from there, to respect.

In the Caribbean family structure, many women play the role of both the Father and Mother, I give it to the women who go beyond their limits especially when its not their biological children....
Nothing to love and respect from me...

Thanks so much for the recognition. I always appreciate reading your posts!

Thank you for being awesome

I appreciate the kind words.
I'm so glad that I found Steemit and also getting to know you too.
Have a great day!

You been a shining star and I am just showing my appreciation....You epitomize what every steemian should strive to be like

Thank you Daudi dearest ;)

I really appreciate you and your words. You're a sweetheart yourself! And I want to note for anybody reading your own selflessness, because although you say you have ongoing support from me, I know that you are not talking about upvotes!! Because I don't give you many XD And I appreciate that too, that this is authentic and has nothing to do with the money that drives many people. ❤️

I also genuinely appreciate your contributions to VOTU and I hope you'll include this post as entry in the contest I'm running on the new discord server for international womens day. https://discord.gg/discord.gg/zBCQ7Zy

Well you are an absolute sweetheart, moreover, your encouragement on discord and our continuous discussion on topics related to Steem and cryptocurrency and life in general trumps every upvote I may get here on Steem...I actually look forward to those podcast, made contact with alot of people there that I call friends and always look forward to hanging out with.... I would always say, you got some great leadership qualities, Ireland is bless to have you... I would catch up on the discord and I would certainly put this post forward

Thx for the kind words bro! We island people have to cover each other, because the islands always come last in all ecosystems ;)

Happy womansday to you and your loved ones around you!
