Monarchs are large, beautiful colored butterflies that are easy to recognize by either by their striking orange, black, and White markings. They live in North, central, and South America as well as Australia, some Pacific Islands, India, and Western Europe. Their markings include bright orange wings covered with black veins and rimmed with a black border and white dots. Females have thicker veins in their wings. The wingspam of a full-grown monarch can reach nearly five inches.

Do you live near a Monarch mating ground?
I have visited several:
Pacific Grove, CA - near the ocean in a city park near the lighthouse
Santa Cruz, CA - at the Natural Bridges State Park
Phoenix AZ at the park near Tempe, where there is an artificial structure built inside an Arboretum
