1.jpgThe Blue Dragon River. Portugal

This river wasn’t remarkable at all until the photographer Steve Richards found an amazing foreshortening and took a picture of it. Its official name is Odeleite River, but it is more known as the Blue Dragon because of its dark blue color and such unusual curvy shape. Incredibly twisty riverbed, surrounded by the contrasting coasts, creates an original drawing resembling the classical image of a dragon. In the original language it sounds like Ribeira de Odeleite.
Odeleite River is located in the municipality of Castro Marim, Algarve, in Portugal. It originates in the mountains of the Serra de Caldeirao and flows through the municipalities Sao Bras de Alportel, Tavira, Alcoutim, Castro Marim Faro district. Also, there is a water reservoir of the same name because of the dam created on the path of the river. Odeleite is a right tributary of the River Guadiana.
White houses of the village on the bank of the river give this place its amazing beauty and very special charm. By the way the village has the same name – Odeleite. Thus, such magnificent landscapes of the shores blend with soft tones of the buildings.
On the shore there is an interesting local landmark – the Church of the Visitation of the Mother of God. The fact is that it is shrouded in myths and legends. This temple being a part of this landscape gives a unique comfort and fascination to this place.
If you want to see the river in all its glory, and appreciate the unique image of the dragon, you need to climb to the source at the top of the hill. The opening view which inspired the photographer will amaze you!
View of the river from the satellite also provides a striking Impression.

The Haunted Hotel at Tequendama Falls
View on Google Maps

Tequendama Falls (or Salto del Tequendama) is a major tourist attraction about 30 km (19 miles) southwest of Bogotá, the capital city of Colombia. The thousands of tourists who visit the area to admire the 157 metre (515 feet) tall waterfall and the surrounding nature, make a stop at another nearby landmark as well, the abandoned Hotel del Salto.

The luxurious Hotel del Salto opened in 1928 to welcome wealthy travelers visiting the Tequendama Falls area. Situated just opposite to the waterfall and on the edge of the cliff, it provided a breathtaking view to its guests. During the next decades though, Bogotá river was contaminated and tourists gradually lost their interest to the area. The hotel finally closed down in the early 90's and was left abandoned ever since. The fact that many people in the past chose that spot to commit suicide, made others believe that the hotel is haunted.

More recently, Hotel del Salto was turned into a museum of biodiversity and culture ![1.jpg]

The Casting Call For Nirvana’s ‘Smell Like Teen Spirit’ Video
The music video for “Smells Like Teen Spirit” was based on the concept of a school concert which ends in anarchy and riot. Filmed on a soundstage in Culver City, the video featured the band playing at a pep rally in a high school gym to an audience of apathetic students on bleachers and cheerleaders wearing black dresses with the Circle-A anarchist symbol. The video ends with the assembled students destroying the set and the band’s gear. The demolition of the set captured in the video’s conclusion was the result of genuine discontent. The extras that filled the bleachers had been forced to stay seated through numerous replays of the song for an entire afternoon of filming. Cobain convinced Bayer to allow the extras to mosh, with the result that the video set became a scene of chaos. See the full video below:2.jpg
