Not sure what the embarrassing part was. It was definitely a strange problem to have to fix but I'm not sure we needed to be embarrassed by it. Unless you count NBC's made-for-TV disaster movie "Y2K." Now THAT was embarrassing.
Ah yes the[ Y2K Bug](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_2000_problem). Some of the [COBOL](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COBOL) programmers were brought in by the US Postal Service specifically to [fix this problem](https://www.bizjournals.com/stlouis/stories/2000/01/03/story4.html) and were able to earn $70,000 a year plus benefits.
