Good day!

Starting off with a riddle;

Hello! Ladies and gentlemen.
Recognize me who I am!
I may be sarcastic, I may put end to fights!
I may contain everything in me
I may change the perspective of how you see!
Com'on now don't delay!
You use me every second and every day!
I am none other than "Ok"!!!

Of course, my friends! "Ok" Is the word used most commonly and frequently used all over the world. It is also one of the oddest expressions ever invented. It's a word that looks and sounds like an abbreviation, an acronym.

Generally this word is spelled as "OK" but the spelling "Okay" is relatively recent, and we pronounce it not "ock" but by sounding the names of the letters O and K. It visually pairs the completely round O with the completely straight lines of K. The vowel O and A exists in almost all languages which adds up to it's successful image.

Let's discuss the discovery of "Ok".

Its true origin was gradually forgotten. However, this word was introduced to the world on 23rd March 1839. It was introduced to the world on the second page of the Boston Morning Post, in the midst of a long paragraph, as "o.k. (all correct)".

Following the similar attitude, within a decade, people began actually marking OK on documents and using OK on the telegraph to signal that all was not wrong but it was avoided in business contexts, or in fictional dialogue by characters deemed to be rustic or illiterate.

In today's century the word "Ok" moved from margin to mainstream, gradually becoming an important part of everyone's conversation, no longer looked on as illiterate or slang. Even the top rated companies of the world such as "Google" comes up with voice search options in it's andriod handsets by commanding it as "Ok google > (giving command to search anything)...."

Why is "Ok" so much important in conversations?

This word is usually expressionless. It wasn't actually needed to fill a gap in any language. It provides a sense of neutrality without showing any kinds of emotions to others. It's a way to affirm or to express agreement without having to offer an opinion.

For Example.

Consider this dialogue: "Let's have dinner together!"
Reply: "Ok."

Compare that with: "Let's have dinner together!"
Reply: "Great!" or "Wonderful."

The above examples clearly illustrates what I have mentioned above!

"Ok" itself is used in many conversations now a days and has became a necessary part of our conversations. It has is widely used all over the world by people to express themselves. All we need to do is to be mature enough to say "ok" on whatever is right and to deny anything that isn't!

Use "Ok" wisely! OK?
