It's the world's shortest intelligence exam. 83% of people fail three simple questions.

The world's quickest IQ test is now circulating online. It's only three questions... but only 17% of folks get them all properly. That equates to 83% of persons failing. But you will not! Because, once again, secret genius and all.

The three questions are as follows...

  1. A bat and ball set costs $1.10. The bat is $1 more expensive than the ball. What is the price of the ball?

  2. Five machines take five minutes to produce five widgets. How much time would it take 100 machines to produce 100 widgets?

  3. In a lake, there is a clump of lily pads. The patch doubles in size every day. How long will it take to cover half of the lake if it takes 48 days to cover the full lake?

And now for the answers...

  1. The most common incorrect response is ten cents. The correct answer is five cents. The bat is actually $1.05 in price.

  2. The most common incorrect response is 100 minutes. 5 minutes is the correct answer. Each machine produces a widget in 5 minutes. 100 widgets, 100 machines, 5 minutes.

  3. The most common incorrect response is 24 days. The correct response is 47 days. It will be treble the size it was on day 47, covering barely half the lake on day 48.

So how did you fare?
