Dear @Dtube #69 // when your instinct is dead on point, congratulations wistia for staying true.

I pretty much cover a lot of it in the vlog so I’m not gonna write much here but instead I’m gonna put a copy of what I left as a comment on their blog post this morning when I watched the video and read the post — trust me it’s a worth while read, maybe sure you sync yourself with the video and read when they tell you — talk about crafting the experience.

oh man, all the feels, while I’m so happy for you guys to have found your true calling, refined and shaped that diamond I’d love to give you another ‘story’ that has always been running since the moment I had the pleasure of meeting you all for that week way way back — it feels like another lifetime away, yet with this news today feels as current as yesterday.

I had been doing the ‘circuit’ of southby (sxsw) for years, been part of the first 100 strong video bloggers that started on yahoo in the early years and was kinda looking to see where video would go to next — I started on blip.tv, completely side stepped vimeo, made the mistake not to build a revenue stream on youtube and was generally looking for innovative companies and services in the video arena, I knew video would become one of the many ways we would take for granted the incredible tool that the internet would become.

Then, like some cutscene in some 80’s movie with levitating ninja blades and smoke machines just off camera you guys popped up onto my radar. I instantly loved what you were doing but thought you were crazy to even entertain the idea of being ‘different’ to youtube.

That being said I just had to know more, so much so that when you advertised for a week long person to come and be the ‘director of customer happiness’ I jumped at the chance and luckily interfacing with Adam and you guys you hooked me up to visit you.

Having spent time knee deep in with companies and startups who would appear with fanfare and gradually die off as you saw their weaknesses in their product and their company ethos something about you guys always stood out too me.

Your people — the way you would all overlap and ‘jump in’ — I remember I got to stay with ben for a night, adam in the lovely forest, I really got a true sense of what wistia was, the way Adam would speak about the business, about what you two were doing. Drinking incredible coffee in the diesel cafe talking ‘shop’ with Adam — you really pulled together an incredible team, I’m hoping to see him in a few months here in England (yes, after all this time!)

I remember being blown away by both of your capacity, passion and drive and can do attitude to get things going, yes you were both young but you both knew what you wanted to achieve and nothing was going to stop that.

for me this feels so personal and vindicating, I’m sure the investors, friends and your workers all feel the same too — I can’t imagine the road you have travelled and the ups and downs that have led you here. i’ve followed along where time allowed and was always happy to see that uniquely shaped voice the startup had carved out for itself.

But the biggest takeaway for me is that my gut instinct was right, you were different, you were true to yourself, you were not just intellectually invested in your product but the company also had your heart and soul — you’ve shown that today and I could not be more proud to see you both (and the rest of your company) live out your true intentions.

Congratulations Wistia.

Had I the heaven's embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light;
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

https://wistia.com/learn/culture/taking-on-debt-to-grow-our-own-way -- go give this a watch and read today, this is how all startups should run in the world if you ask me.

Love these guys, love that startup, love the product and their regular smart decision making and fast deployment of always pushing the latest and greatest thing — now, if I only I could get wistia accepted as an embed on steemit, that would be something.

Anyone know or can help me get through the process of getting a request for an embed supported in condenser past please? — I wonder if busy would be more open to it, either way, I’m sure their is a vertical in there somewhere to get incentivised in steem and have a video site — I think I just talked myself into something there! :) — there ya go, free SMT idea for you! :)

Lot of positives at the moment the last 24hrs hours, almost like a the close of a loop and the opening of another one — better slide down into that as fast as possible eh and see where it leads us.
