Instagram has Steemit logo emoticon?

Few days ago, while I was putting Instagram story, I have noticed that instagram has same strange emoticon. Emoticon looks like past Steemit logo?!
Does anyone knows what is this logo about?

The three S wave thing is actually an extremely generic logo that has had many different uses before, Probably why they decided to change it. Yet I miss it because it made way more sense, was more memorable because, it actually looked liked Steam rising

It is probably something like hot and steaming or that java symbol.

I think it's a hot springs icon. I have used it in several posts. Weird... now that i look at it those were my biggest ones... mmm I may start using it again.
