Perseverance is so Important in this life.

I've finished my part in the all Haida language feature film "Edge of the Knife" and I gave it all I had. I've been frozen in the ocean for a lot of the project. I had one day off in the last week and I slept the entire time. And now I've had another dream come true and I'm still just myself...

You know there have been days in my life where I've sat with a knife to my wrist wanting to give it all up but I chose not to. I've been ashamed of my weight for most of my life but I'm getting to a point of losing all of the weight. I have felt I haven't deserved to have the people I have in my life. But they are still here and that says something about me as a person.

And all of you have the same realizations you have to make. I'm no better than anybody and in a lot of cases I've felt inferior to almost everyone. But in my time of perseverance I've been able to pick myself up and hold myself equal to everybody I see.

I had to learn how to care about myself and love myself. And that took years but that work has been worth it. Not a single one of us is perfect we all make mistakes, we all fail, and lose, but we can learn how to be stronger from those experiences, by not turning our backs on ourselves and hiding from our imperfect lives, decisions, and experiences, by facing who you really are, good, bad, ugly, you give yourself the freedom to just live life. To allow it to the unfold in the ways it is suppose to.

Fate is a real thing but we decide our destiny. In the way we choose to behave and act, in the end we have to look back on everything we've done and be either happy or regretful of what we see. And all it is is a matter of choice and perspective.

You all have the ability to make choices. I simply chose to love all of who I am good, bad, and ugly and I've made life work for me and every one of you can do the same. Just don't expect it to happen over night. It takes years, truly it takes a lifetime.

So all of you folks out there live your damn life the way you want to and make sure you are there for the people you love as much as you can. Because the relationships you have are going to make or break the experiences you have while living on this planet.
