Good post. I find it interesting that the word "person" has its origin in the theatrical masks of the Greco-Roman world, because indeed, man, as conceived in modern society, is mere appearance. Proof of this is that it is much easier to get the social growth by pretending to be good (through deception and lying), than to be truly good. Maybe it has to do with people making judgments very fast, so it becomes much easier to pretend than to be.

Although it is very likely to be, as you say, because people are not being who they really are.

I think you are absolutely right to mention that we're quick to judge; we all do this, we always immediately form a first impression when we meet someone new, a first impression that's often permanent because most people we don't really get to know.
