Exceeding expectations; BEAT YOUR BEST

Good day steemians. Welcome once again to a new week. Today's inspirational talk is a continuation of my previous post titled BE YOUR BEST. Please read and be inspired....

Previously, I said that we CAN be our best. Now that you have been encouraged to be your best, I want to let you know that you can "beat that best" Why? Records are set to be broken. So, one should not be found sitting too long around an already achieved expectation. It could drag you into the pit. Even the bible affirmed this in Micah 2 vs 10, "Arise ye and depart, for this is not your rest. Because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction".

Truth is, everyone who settles for less in the race of life always find themselves thronging behind with the rest. If you hold on to the past, you stay there. That's why it' s a polluted ground. It consumes the future of anyone who will not let it go. Holding on to a past achievement is nothing but a distraction that takes your mind off the future, off your focus.

Success it to be made and waved almost immediately, else it will hold you down.

Another verse of the bible in Philippians 3 vs 13 says " Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended, but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth to those things which are before". The point is clear, if you over-celebrate an achievement, it will ground you.

It is worthy of note that, the enemy of success is not always failure-sometimes it is success itself!

If you don't constantly put your achievements behind you, like Paul often did, it will drag you behind.

Success has a way of making public mockery of those who don't strive to build on it. Success, not failure!
Let me give us an example of failure in this sense; if a man drives forward and faster in life, but glues his eyes to the rear mirror (past glory), that man is definitely headed for destruction, that is, Failure.

Unless you are willing to beat your best record, your very last success, you are not relevant in the world of today. Exceeding expectation is not about you outdoing the past records of others but constantly outdoing your past performances - beating your own best!

As a matter of fact, no one has seen your best yet. No, YOUR BEST IS YET TO COME!. You can still score more goals, win more medals, attract more crowds, wax more albums, yes, you can achieve more success both on Steemit and in the outside world; anywhere you find yourself, I mean, you can go all the places you have never been. Just make your daily thought to be, "How much of what I can do or I have capacity to achieve have I done or achieved?

Beating your best however, is not a wishy-washy thing. It's a real work! In fact, it is the real deal. I mean, if being your best requires much from you, beating your best certainly requires more. To be sincere, on your way to exceeding expectation, people will call you all sorts of names. They will ask, " What else does he want? What in the name of succeeding-big does he want again?"...lol. If you listen to them, you have succeeded in making them your counselors. You are now members of the same constituency which I call Association of Men of Low Aims or Circle of Average Achievers.

Finally, always remember this, "Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out". That is to say, the more the wood, the more the fire.
