Meet Yasmine El Baggari, one of the most inspiring and promising entrepreneurs on Forbes' list in 2016
This is my second post on my series #PersonofInterest where I post profiles of great young people across the world impacting their generation so that we can all be motivated on our individual quests.(Hope yours is a good one though). So today, I present to you, the one and only, Yasmine El Baggari.
Meet Yasmine El Baggari,
She is a native of Morocco, is passionate about connecting people and bridging cultures to encourage a more peaceful caring world. She launched Voyaj, an online platform that matches host families with travelers, worldwide, to provide people with meaningful experiences – opening hearts and minds.
For the past four years, Yasmine's reach has included work with the World Bank, research at Harvard University, and the US State Department as an “Engage America” Ambassador. She has spoken World at international conferences, including the Economic Forum, the Middle East Studies Association, and Obama’s Global Entrepreneurship Summit. Her work has appeared in National Geographic, Forbes, and the Huffington Post. Yasmine has also received awards from the African Studies Association, Hampshire College’s $60K Award for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, The Entrepreneurial Spirit Award, the Sander Thoenes Research Award, and two Ingenuity Awards. Recently, she was invited to the White House as one of the 100 Most Influential Travel Bloggers, and on Forbes’ list as one of of the most inspiring and promising entrepreneurs in 2016.
In 2017 Africa Youth Awards named her among the 100 Most Influential Young Africans, an initiative instituted to promote African youth movements and achieving and also restoring excellence in the works of young people across Africa.
