Don't give up. Don't ever ever give up.

Almost all success stories in life have never mirrored this lesson more blatantly. Thomas Edison, generally regarded as the inventor of the light bulb, had to do more than 2,000 experiments before solving the scientific and commercial challenges of the design. When asked about this he merely quipped, "Now I know 2,000 ways how not to make a light bulb." J. K. Rowling, the famous writer who thrilled millions with her novels about Harry Potter never gave up after the manuscript of her first Harry Potter book was turned down on the third, or fourth, or fifth or even the 6th time. The manuscript of her first Harry Potter book was turned down by 12 publishers before Bloomsbury picked it up for an advance of just £1,500. The series went on to sell more than 450 million copies worldwide. Chris Gardner, an American businessman and author of the book "The Pursuit of Happyness" struggled with homelessness while raising his toddler son. As a trainee to a stockbrokerage he had no salary and had to make do with $300 to $400 a month selling medical equipment. He stood in soup kitchens and slept wherever he and his son could find safety—in his office after hours, motels, parks, airports, on public transport, and even in a locked bathroom at a train station. Yet, he never let his officemates know his predicament and despite all odds, persistently made upto 200 calls a day to prospective clients. He topped the training program and was eventually hired by the company and he went on to becoming CEO of his own Stock Brokerage and a motivational speaker, travelling 200 days a year giving inspirational talks all over the world.

The list goes on and on.

Do not give up.

The difference between success and failure could just be in the next step, the next sales call, or the next presentation that you could have made but did not. So what if your Steemit posts only give you a $.01 Reward all the time. Don't stop blogging. Learn more about what makes a post earn and just keep at it. Someone once said, "What the eyes can see is called Sight. What the mind can see is called Vision." But there is something even better and stronger than a Vision. And this comes from the heart. Because what the heart longs for is called a Cause. A vision with a cause is so powerful, it can move mountains. I was able to quit smoking not because I had a vision of myself becoming a non-smoker but because my heart willed it and became my cause. A cause possesses you. It blinds you from the fear of failure, the humiliation of defeat and the pain of rejection. A cause leaves you with no choice, no options but to go forward to achieve it or die doing it.

I leave you with this scene from the movie "Facing the Giants" which has been posted and reposted, shared and reshared in almost all social media networks since 2006 and as of this writing, has been viewed by over 46.3 million viewers. After a dozen years since this scene still remains very relevant to us because of it's underlying lesson in life, and that is: Never give up.
