Hello friends, a warm welcome to day #7 of my blog series Female And More: Inspiring Women To Pursue Their Highest Potentials. Today, I'm going to be talking about a very wonderful icon, Abike Dabiri-Erewa.

Abike, popularly loved by many rose to national prominence through her prowess in news broadcasting with the national television authority (NTA) in Nigeria. She studied English at the University of Ife, Nigeria where she studied English. Her popular Sunday news line program carved a niche for her when she took interest and reported on issues related to social justice and poverty. After 15 years in the broadcast industry, she ventured into politics in a bid to take her service to humanity to a higher level.

Even though she didn't have experience in politics, her desire to serve humanity made venture into politics. With the little resources she had, she mobilized the support of women in Ikorodu Local Government Area of Lagos and that was how she won a seat in the national assembly. She represented Ikorodu Federal Constituency in Lagos state. During her tenure at the National Assembly of Nigeria, she sponsored many bills for societal benefit.

She currently serves as the Senior Special Assistant to President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Buhari Muhammad on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, and has received several local and international awards.

In her own words she says,

Just be yourself and don't be another person. Believe in yourself, have faith in yourself and be fair to others.
