RE: You Don't Need To Be Open In Your Writing, You Need To Be Vulnerable

in #inspiration6 years ago (edited)

Vulnerability is not weakness. It never was and never will be. It's a skill and a sign that you're brave enough to take a hit. The problem is, (sorry for sounding pessimistic) most people are idiots when it comes to being emotionally intelligent.

Sure, you can have a degree or you are the greatest scientist in the world, but only intellectual intelligence doesn't make close relationships. It doesn't offer the power of empathy, vulnerability, and intimacy.

This stands true especially for people who are involved in something which requires creative expression. We writers are one of the best examples.

People don't read your blog because they think you're the smartest, no, they read it because they understand you and are able to relate with you. They know that you genuinely care for your readers and are willing to take a few hits if that's what it takes to make deep connections with them.
