This is me
Greetings fellow Steemians! My name is Muriel. I choose the avatar angelfire808 because I like the idea of being an angel of love, compassion and appreciation; with a fire in my heart to leave the world better than when I arrived on this plain of existence. I believe the world is what you make it. Meaning, if you choose to see negative, hate, violence and darkness; you will find more of that to see. And if you choose to create growth, joy, cooperation, community, fairness and compassion, you will experience more of that. In that vein, if you are looking for an uplift, inspiration or challenge on a semi-irregular basis, check in with me.
I have been on this plain of existence for over six decades. My chosen career for most of my life has been stay-at-home-homeschooling Mom and homemaker. It is a journey. The job is never done. My six children are mostly grown; some with children of their own, and one still at home with me while his Dad works away in the Oil Patch – That is ‘Alberta Speak’ for working for a big oil company doing a job associated with laying pipeline or refining the oil.
My passions range from knitting, to permaculture, to health, to longevity, road trips & travel, camping, self-improvement & learning, singing, anarchy and building sustainable community – to name a few.

The Steemit community and concept fascinate me. I love the idea of a community that supports the creative effort and content of other members; and that it has a currency based on that creative effort makes it very rewarding to participate in as we help each other along. I would like to add to that creative and dynamic community in my own small way.
For starters, I will be posting my thoughts on how I believe we can make our world better; or how we can make our own experience of our world better. I will also be sharing some of my road trips and other adventures that I have had and plan on having. Peace.

I am glad that statement inspires you. The place to start is with our self. We eliminate anger and revenge, bitterness & blame. When we are at peace and accept full responsibility for what we create around us, that is the beginning. All the best.
