CHRISTIAN CHARACTER

Greetings friends!

If it were possible to take the nature of a Lamb and place it in a pig, we would expect the pig to act like a lamb, to desert garbages and desist from lying in muddy places and begin to feed in green pastures and drink from clear still waters. This would show that the character if the pig has changed.

The new birth is an experienced that changes the character of the one who has been born again. And when someone's character has changed, it will be visible to people around.

The first index of a changed life is that the changed person suddenly realised that he has really wronged people in the time past; may be he stole, cheated, extorted money from people, lied in order to enjoy a benefit or was involved in a wrong marital relationship. He immediately, discovers that he needs to amend his past by returning stolen property, apologising to the offended or paying back what was dubiously gotten. He does this to maintain a clean, Christian conscience.

The mystery in this kind of act is that the Christian decides to do this without being forced by anyone - it is an action that "naturally " and spontaneously follows spiritual transformation.

That is not all, the change if life will be visible at home. Neighbours, husband or wife and children will quickly notice the change of character. People would be amazed to see that a drunk noe leads a descent life, a liar is now honest an immoral person is noe pure and that a loud-mouthed and belligerent person is now gentle, shamefaced and peaceable. This change, whenever it is noticed at home, makes people in the neighborhood of the converted person to give glory to God and in some cases, to give their lives to Jesus Christ also.

Besides this, the change of of life and character is also seen in the life of the believer in his place of work. A Christian trader, civil servant or craftsmen will always radiate the life of Christ. Coworkers, customers, co-contractors and fellow traders, will quickly notice the change in the Christian as he will begin to conduct his business or attend to his duties in a new way.

The change in the life if a new convert will be apparent to friends, colleagues and acquaintances. When a person who is addicted to profanity, lewdness and vain-talking becomes a changed person he begins to talk about Christ and will find it impossible to stay in any place where Christ would be honored. This change In character so thorough and obvious that all who come in contact with the converted person will see him as a follower of Christ, one whose character has been transformed.

CALL TO ACTION
I beseech you therefore brothers and sisters by the mercies of God that you present yourselves as a living sacrifice; holy and acceptable unto God so that when people see you, they would have no cause than to accept Jesus Christ because of your character.
