Mecoptera - female. Fly from Permian period.

Mecoptera is an ancient and primitive group of insects. They were massive already in the Paleozoic and Mesozoic. Appeared in the Permian period.
I used to make a photo of a Mecoptera male. His tail looks like a scorpion. And the female, on the contrary, is shortened without an appendix. See my photos.
