This spider is hanging in front of the window of the garage. It is quite big, you can't overlook it. The female spider can reach a size of around 17 mm. These spiders are not shy and often stay in the middle of their web.

Just watched the animated Spiderman movie (with a teenager named Miles) tonight, in part because of your comment about the rope. :) What a cool movie! Spiders!! And the movie included the atom smasher (Hadron collider) and image from Hubble telescope. Woot! Thanks for your rope comment! (And Netflix for having the movie finally!)

That’s a beauty of a spider. Spiders are great to have around outside- spiders catch, kill and eat a wide variety of garden pests
