Norway plans to turn the airport of Oslo into utopian "city of the future"

in #innovation7 years ago

Two Norwegian organizations, Haptic Architects and Nordic Office of Architecture, have submitted the detailed plan of a construction of the settlement which will become the safest, clean, convenient and "green" of ever thought up by the person. To build it can begin in 2019 on the basis of the airport of Oslo which de facto is the isolated territory.

Key aspects of the concept:

  • Completely pedestrian center and main districts of the city;
  • The ban on use of DVS, only electric cars and only UAVs – private transport beyond the law;
  • "Clever" planning that inhabitants could reach in only a few minutes anywhere;
  • Big windows, transparent roofs, open space for use of natural lighting;
  • The city consumes exactly so much energy how many will develop, any deliveries from the outside and transportation of energy carriers;
  • All garbage and other waste generated by the city are subject to 100% processing;
  • Power sources for the city have to be renewable, but it isn't specified with what.
