Phill - Round about midnight
I am in a hurry to catch up with both the Phill schedule and the Inktober, so for the day 14 word, "clock, I have chosen a familiar topic that I know well. My anti-hero Phill from Phill from GCHQ. This time with a clock and an analogue watch that goes well with black tie. I like to cast him in this James Bond costume, but he has not (yet) shown himself in semi-formal in the comic.
Here you go.
And to add some flavour is here the title song from Mile Davis' 1957 album. The beautiful tune is written by Thelonious Monk by the way.
Love the drawing, and that was a very clever incorporation of the clock!
Monk's Round Midnight is one of those songs that seem like they weren't written, but were perfection that had always existed and were simply discovered.
Mile's version is a true classic, but I also love this blues guitar version by Ronnie Earl.
I love so many versions of this tune. No matter who it somehow drags even the most mellow musician into midnight melancholia.
Wow, it's the perfect drawing for the 15th day of the inktober! Really well done!
Thanks Silvia!
There is something mystical in this ink drawing ...the moment before midnight
Maybe we will eventually reach this scene in the comic... I did have the thought.
Nice! I like your inking style, always very bold and stark and dramatic <3 Analog clocks are becoming more and more a rarity these days, too.
