On the 23rd day of the Inktober challenge, whose theme is old, I made an illustration of a cat from ancient Egypt, which was one of the many animals that were venerated at the time and was associated with the fact that it was an animal that represented protection, He was even considered the incarnation of the goddess Bastet, which represented protection, love and harmony. Bastet statues were always represented in the form of a cat, or as a woman with a cat's head.
Even the cats of Ancient Egypt were so adored, that every time they died, their owners mourned and shaved their eyebrows in sadness ...
The cats were embalmed and then mummified ...
